To start using the WhatsApp Business API, you will need the following:

  • A Facebook Business ID

  • A valid phone number with the ability to receive international phone calls or an SMS

  • A referral link to a signup form (supplied by your Software Partner)

  • A callback server (typically provided by your Software Partner)

Meta Business ID

You need to have a Meta Business ID (formerly known as Facebook Business ID). To find your Business ID, log into the Meta Business Manager of the business and navigate to Business Settings. The Business Manager ID is displayed under the business name.

If you donโ€™t have a verified Facebook Business account, you need to create a Facebook Business Manager. To create a Business Manager:

  1. Go to .

  2. Click Create Account.

  3. Enter a name for your business, your name, and your work email address; then click Next.

  4. Enter your business details and click Submit.

Verify your Business Client account

To keep connected to the API your Business Account must be approved in the . That's why Business Verification is required.

This procedure also helps to protect users from false information and you can check the approval status in the Meta Business Manager account.

Attention: Once youโ€™ve completed the official form with the legal business details, you wonโ€™t be able to change them.

  • Go to Security Center and click Start Verification. If you havenโ€™t logged in to your Business account, the button will be grayed out.

  • Enter your business details, click Next, and select your business from the list.

  • Select a phone number and confirm the details.

  • After you received the verification code, click the Submit button.
